Big Green Grasshopper

Big Green Grasshopper, originally uploaded by Honduras Sprout.

This midwestern city girl hadn't seen a grasshopper like this until I moved to Honduras. I wasn't even sure what it was at first.

The green grasshopper has a special name in Honduras; instead of "grillo" (the name for the brown grasshopper), they are called "esperanza," which means "hope."

I was born and raised; now I'm in USA studying. It's interesting to see my country from your perspective!

That is really cool to know! Thanks for sharing that. I have been on hiatus lately from this blog since I've been pregnant and not on the computer as much.
